WebOct 7, 2013 · The engine you are looking at in this project of mine is a 27,2 ccm Stiga weedwhacker-engine It turned into a screamer just by changing the carb(had to build a new inlet manifold though), and i have yet to try it with the tune pipe. I've seen converted weed eater, chainsaws, concrete saws, paint mixers, etc. Back in the 80s and early 90s converting Sachs engines to RC use was a common thing. You won't be going anywhere fast if you think a stripped down weed eater engine will work.Maybe 1/2-3/4 HP and tops out at maybe 11,000rpm's.Not to mention a weed eater is aircooled and a RC boat engine is water cooled so you'd burn the weed eater engine in very short order.

Buy a strut and rudder ($60 used or 100 new) and $100 for other components to finish the build (prop, cable, radio box etc).
